Kremlin spokesman calls WSJ article on Prigozhin's death "pulp fiction"
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov considers that The Wall Street Journal's article on the death of Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin falls into the category of pulp fiction.
According to Kommersant, the article claimed that Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev was responsible for the crash of the Embraer business jet carrying Prigozhin.
We have seen this material, but we would not like to comment on it. Because such kind of material can hardly be commented on. Unfortunately, The Wall Street Journal is very fond of producing pulp fiction lately," Peskov told journalists to comment on the US publication.
On December 22, The Wall Street Journal published a story in which, with reference to Western intelligence services and an unnamed "ex-officer of Russian intelligence", it was reported that a plane crash killing Yevgeny Prigozhin, was organized on behalf of the Secretary of the Security Council. According to the publication, Nikolai Patrushev familiarized President Vladimir Putin with the "plan to eliminate the founder of Wagner, alleging that the Russian president "did not object".
