Kyiv hit by one of most extensive Russian missile attacks – Zelenskyy
Russia carried out one of its most extensive ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv overnight, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Telegram.
According to the president, Russian forces launched more than 40 missiles of various types, the majority of them targeting the Ukrainian capital, along with 120 attack drones.
“At this moment, one person is known to have been killed in Kyiv and the surrounding region, while 16 others have been injured. My condolences to all the families and loved ones affected. All those injured are receiving the necessary medical assistance. Emergency response operations are ongoing at three strike sites, with nearly 600 rescuers involved. Relevant services are also working in the Odesa region,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian leader added that Russia had used approximately 1,450 attack drones, more than 1,640 guided aerial bombs and 99 missiles of various types against Ukraine over the past week alone.
He also reported injuries in the Odesa and Zaporizhzhia regions, while damage was recorded in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
