Kyiv: Ukraine thwarts Russian pranksters' provocation against Baykar CEO VIDEO
Ukrainian intelligence officers have thwarted a provocation prepared by Russian pranksters against CEO of Baykar, Türkiye's premiere autonomous technology company, Haluk Bayraktar.
"Russian special services are trying to master deepfake technology. It is based on artificial intelligence and allows to create a fake video in which a famous person seems to make a statement that is not characteristic of him. This time, the Russians tried to contact one of the founders of the Baykar defence company, which produces the famous Bayraktar drones Haluk Bayraktar," RBC-Ukraine reports citing Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate.
The conversation was conducted on behalf of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, whose video image was actually created through deepfake technology.
The intelligence officers managed to intercept information about a possible provocation, so the Russian hackers had to answer the question of what happened to the Crimean bridge and talk to the "secretary of the Baykar company".
"The purpose of this action was an attempt to discredit cooperation between Ukraine and Türkiye. At the end of the conversation, the Russian pranksters were informed that they had been exposed," the report says.
The Russian pranksters exposed themselves with the phrase "Indian summer", which was voiced in the Russian manner.
