Latvian companies trading with Russia, Belarus remain largely unchanged Economy minister confirms
The list of Latvian companies trading with Russia and Belarus has remained largely unchanged compared to previous records, Economy Minister Viktors Valainis told Latvian television.
He noted that although the law prohibits publishing such data, the Ministry of Economics has already released the list twice, with the most recent version still available on the ministry’s website, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Valainis emphasised that trade volumes with Russia and Belarus have decreased significantly, and the number of companies has slightly declined, but overall, the situation remains stable.
The Ministry of Economics, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, plans to discuss further steps, while a repeated publication could have legal implications for the state.
Earlier, Prime Minister Evika Siliņa instructed authorities to ensure the list is published to inform the public about business dealings with Russia and Belarus.
