Lithuania allocates €10 million for long-range weapons to Ukraine
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that Lithuania has allocated an additional 10 million euros to support the production of advanced long-range weaponry for Ukraine.
This funding, which follows the first tranche of a Memorandum of Understanding signed in December 2024, aims to enhance Ukraine's military capabilities.
Umerov shared the news in a Facebook post, stating that the newly allocated funds will help expand production and further develop Ukraine's long-range weaponry, which has already proven effective on the battlefield, Caliber.Az reports.
He emphasized that these weapons are increasing Ukraine's range, precision, and firepower.
"Together with Lithuanian partners, we are working on the next stage - another 10 million euros of aid, which will allow to expand production and strengthen our trucking capabilities even more," Umerov added.
He also described the investment as crucial for Ukraine’s independence and for ensuring the security of Europe as a whole.
In addition to the 10 million euros for this phase, Lithuania had previously invested 20 million euroes in March to bolster Ukraine's defense industry, with the goal of establishing joint arms production between the two countries. Umerov expressed his gratitude to Lithuania for its unwavering support and strategic partnership in Ukraine's efforts toward victory.
