Lithuania denies claims of US pressure over Belarus fertiliser transit
The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied reports suggesting that Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said the United States was exerting pressure to restore the transit of Belarusian fertilisers.
In a statement on the social media platform X, the ministry made it clear that media reports had misrepresented the minister’s remarks and stressed that he did not use the term “pressure” in this context, Caliber.Az reports.
“Foreign Minister didn‘t state that the US presses for resumption of BY potash exports. What the minister said was: "The situation is changing... I have always said that there is no such activity, but today I can say that, yes, additional activity has appeared, from the U.S.," the ministry noted.

Earlier reports had suggested growing US pressure on Lithuania and other regional countries that could serve as transit routes for Belarusian potash exports.
