Lithuania’s FM urges EU to boost aid to Ukraine after recent attacks
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys has called on the European Union to increase military assistance to Ukraine following a series of Russian strikes between April 3 and 5, with a particular emphasis on strengthening air defence systems.
Sharing a post on X, he noted that while many Western countries were enjoying peace and security during the Easter period, Ukraine was facing renewed attacks from Russia, Caliber.Az reports.
Budrys highlighted that on the night of April 5, Russia launched 140 unmanned aerial vehicles, killing three people in Odesa.
On April 7, a Russian drone struck a bus at a stop in Nikopol, leaving three people dead and dozens injured.
The Lithuanian foreign minister stressed that the attacks were deliberate and urged partners to provide swift assistance to Ukraine.
“There is nothing accidental about these strikes. This is a deliberate strategy of terror. Ukraine urgently needs reinforced air defense and immediate delivery of support. The EU and partners must act now—every delay costs lives,” he wrote.
