During his visit, Landsbergis is scheduled to discuss key issues, including the frontline situation, further military support from the West, Ukraine's EU and NATO integration, and development cooperation initiatives led by Lithuania.
The visit comes amid a government reshuffle in Ukraine and Russia's ongoing counter-offensive in the Kursk region. This marks Landsbergis' ninth trip to Ukraine since the Russian invasion began in February 2022, and he is expected to stay until September 15.
Landsbergis has been vocal in his criticism of the West's delayed support for Ukraine. Lithuania and its allies have urged for the removal of restrictions on Ukraine targeting Russian territory.
Kyiv is also pressing Washington and London to lift limits on the use of U.S. and British weapons for strikes on Russian soil. Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that such actions would signify NATO's direct involvement in the conflict.
