Lithuanian PM denies tasking minister to arrange Trump talks
Lithuania’s Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has firmly denied reports that she instructed Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys to arrange a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
In an interview with the news portal 15min, Ruginienė dismissed the claims outright. “This is not true. I am not just denying it — it is not true,” she said, responding to recent media reports.
Earlier reports had alleged that the foreign minister was tasked with organizing a meeting with Trump, or, if that proved unfeasible, with US Vice President JD Vance.
Ruginienė has previously characterized such reports as rumors and reiterated that she does not consider it necessary to comment on unverified information. She also underscored her active engagement in foreign policy, including her participation in the work of the European Council.
