Lithuanian president admits possibility of Russian aggression against NATO
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda believes that the Russian Federation may go for aggression against NATO countries in case the West stops supporting Ukraine.
The Lithuanian president said this in an interview with TV3 channel, cited by Delfi.
At the same time, Nauseda said that the probability of ending support for Ukraine is small.
"It will depend on the scenario of the war in Ukraine. If Russia fails to turn things in its favour, then of course it will be stuck there for a long time and will not be able to fight on several fronts. If things are different, and the West suddenly turns its back on Ukraine and doesn't give it the help it needs... Yes, then it could happen like that, but the probability of such a scenario is low," he said, commenting on the talk about the threat to NATO from Russia.
According to Nauseda, "no one has an answer to the question of when Russia's behaviour might change and when it will cast its gaze in the direction of NATO."
