London police arrest six following clash near Iranian embassy
Police have confirmed that six men were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after a violent altercation near the Iranian embassy in London.
The arrests occurred during a protest earlier today against the Iranian leadership. Police stated, "Six men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm – they remain in police custody", Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 9:50 a.m. Two men sustained injuries and were treated on-site before being transported to hospital for further care by the London Ambulance Service, police said.
The Metropolitan Police have cordoned off the area on Prince’s Gate, the location of the Iranian embassy, while initial investigations continue.
"Police have cordoned off the area while initial investigations take place," the statement added.
While the Met did not explicitly connect the arrests to the embassy, the incident’s proximity suggests a possible link. No additional details have been provided regarding the condition of the injured or the identities of those arrested.
