Magnitude 5.1 earthquake hits Japan’s Kyushu

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck southwestern Japan on Wednesday, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said.
The epicentre was located in Kumamoto Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, with a focal depth of 10 km. The quake registered a maximum intensity of four on Japan’s seven-level seismic intensity scale.
No tsunami warning was issued, and there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
