Media: European officials doubt Trump has clear plan for Ukraine
European officials believe that US President-elect Donald Trump lacks a clear plan for Ukraine.
After the elections, Trump asked questions about the conflict in Ukraine and sought their views on potential solutions, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
"European officials said... they do not believe he has developed a clear strategy on what to do," the article notes.
Sources also informed that if the troops of the EU member states were to be deployed in Ukraine, they would do so as part of a peacekeeping mission focused on monitoring a ceasefire. European military forces will not participate in NATO operations in Ukraine.
On December 12, Trump stated that he intends to broker a deal to resolve the Moscow-Kyiv conflict, and that the only way to achieve this is by not abandoning Ukraine.
Earlier in December, the information went viral that Trump's plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict involves Ukraine conceding territories to Russia and removing the issue of Ukraine's NATO membership. Trump's plan for Ukraine has already been criticised by members of Russia’s State Duma.
