Media: Hezbollah confident Israel to avoid ground incursion into Lebanon
Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah has expressed confidence that Israel will refrain from launching a ground invasion into Lebanon in response to recent cross-border attacks.
The statement was made by a source within the organization’s leadership in a commentary for Al Jazeera, according to Caliber.Az.
"We do not expect any ground invasion into Lebanese territory, even a limited one. However, we are in a state of full [military] readiness," the source stated.
The Hezbollah representative emphasized that the movement takes the threats from Israeli leadership seriously and is fully prepared to respond to any potential attacks from the Israeli state. Decisions regarding the "form and scale of response" will be made by Hezbollah's leadership. Specifically, the source highlighted that Hezbollah fighters are capable of delivering powerful strikes against Israeli military targets in Haifa and the Golan Heights, as well as the Ramat David airbase.
