Syria denounces Israeli strike on air base, warns of regional escalation UPDATED
Syria’s Foreign Ministry condemned an Israeli airstrike on the Abu al-Duhur air base in Idlib province, calling it a violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity that poses a serious threat to regional stability and security.
The ministry called on the international community and the UN Security Council to take measures to prevent further strikes, Caliber.Az reports.
The Israeli airstrikes on the Abu al-Duhur base were carried out overnight on August 18. Syrian television reported that the base sustained material damage.

Israeli aircraft carried out four airstrikes targeting the runway of the Abu al-Duhur military airbase in the eastern part of Syria’s Idlib province, Syria TV reports.
The identity of the aircraft involved in the strikes has not yet been established.
Some local reports suggested that Israel may have been behind the strikes, but no official confirmation regarding the identity of the aircraft or the party responsible had been issued at the time of publication.
