Two killed, 10 injured in massive Russian attack on Kyiv PHOTO / UPDATED

The number of people injured in a massive Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 10, while two people were killed, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said, according to Ukrinform.

Five of those injured were hospitalised, with two reported to be in serious condition. Falling debris and fires were reported in several districts of the capital, while emergency crews continued working to contain the consequences of the attack.

Separately, Russian forces carried out 785 strikes on 51 settlements in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region over a 24-hour period, according to Ukrainian authorities. Twelve people were injured in attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding district, while authorities received 132 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.

Russian forces have launched a missile attack on Kyiv, killing two people and injuring seven, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. The consequences of the attack were recorded in five districts of the capital.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported explosions across the city, with debris falling on residential buildings in two districts and damaging a car. Ukraine’s Air Force warned that cruise missiles had also been launched.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said six people were initially reported injured, with three hospitalised and three treated on an outpatient basis. Fires broke out at an educational facility in the Holosiivskyi district and in non-residential areas of the Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts, where garages and cars caught fire.
