Media: Turkish FM to convene Gaza Board of Peace in Antalya
Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will chair a ministerial meeting on the situation in the Gaza Strip on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, bringing together a number of countries involved in the Board of Peace initiative.
According to a source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry cited by TASS the talks are expected to include representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Qatar, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
These countries had previously taken part in a meeting with US President Donald Trump in New York on September 23, 2025.
According to the source, Fidan will focus on advancing to the second phase of a proposed Gaza settlement plan and will highlight what he describes as attempts to undermine the process. He is expected to stress the need for a sustained ceasefire, the transfer of governance in Gaza to Palestinians, and urgent security arrangements.
The Turkish foreign minister will also underline the importance of launching reconstruction efforts in Gaza as soon as possible, arguing that moving to the second phase of the plan could help reduce regional tensions.
Fidan is expected to raise concerns over alleged violations and non-compliance with agreements by Israel, as well as developments in the West Bank and around holy sites in Jerusalem, including Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He will further call on the international community to adopt a firmer stance on enforcing a ceasefire and implementing the two-state solution.
The agenda is also set to include discussions on Lebanon and broader regional conflicts, including in the context of US-Iran contacts, the source added.
