Media: Ukraine open to temporary conflict freeze
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's plan, which he intends to present during his upcoming visit to the US, includes Ukraine's willingness to agree to localised ceasefires "in specific areas" and a temporary freeze of the conflict.
President Zelenskyy has previously stated that he will present Ukraine's "victory plan" to US President Joe Biden, as well as to the presidential candidates, namely, Vice President, Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
On September 13, he stated that the plan involves a “system of interconnected solutions” designed to guide Ukraine “toward a path leading to peace.”
As for the idea of a ceasefire, the Ukrainian leader has repeatedly rejected it, asserting that a pause would only benefit Russia. During the meeting President Zelenskyy will demand permission to use Western long-range weapons to strike Russia.
Military expert Carlo Masala from the Bundeswehr University in Munich believes that the Ukrainian president “wants to go all in and attempt to achieve a breakthrough on the battlefield.”
