Media: Ukrainian strikes cut power in Russian-occupied part of Kherson region
25 December 2025 14:11
More than 60,000 people in the Russian-occupied part of Ukraine’s Kherson region were left without electricity following an attack by Ukrainian forces on the Vinogradovo transformer substation, local authorities said.
Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-appointed so-called "governor" of the region, told ASTRA that residents in the Aleshkinsky, Golopristansky, Kalanchaksky, Kakhovsky, Skadovsky, and Chaplinsky municipal districts were affected.
He added that socially significant facilities had been switched to backup power, ensuring life support systems continued to operate, and that specialists from "Khersonenergo" had begun repair and restoration work.
