Media: US forces authorised to strike IRGC boats in Strait of Hormuz
US military forces have been granted authority to strike boats belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) if they pose a threat to vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Axios correspondent Barak Ravid, citing a US official, reported that the rules of engagement for American troops in the Middle East have been modified.
Under the updated guidance, forces are now permitted to target immediate threats, including fast-moving IRGC boats and Iranian missile positions.

Previously, US President Donald Trump stated that any Iranian vessel approaching the US blockade would be immediately destroyed.
