Melania Trump appeals to Belarus to raise issue of nissing Ukrainian children

U.S. First Lady Melania Trump has formally requested Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin the situation of Ukrainian children in Russia.

Lukashenko told reporters that Melania Trump provided him with a list of children who, as a result of the war in Ukraine, have gone missing in Russia, Caliber.Az reports per Belarusian media. 

The Belarusian president confirmed he is prepared to relay this information to Putin during their next in-person meeting.

“If Melania asks [this follows a previous letter she sent to Putin regarding the children], I will convey this position to my older brother, no question,” Lukashenko said, using a term of familiarity to refer to Putin.
