Minibus collides with train in Poland, driver hospitalised
A minibus collided with the Gdynia–Hel train at a railway crossing in Żelistrzewo, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland.
The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. local time (1:40 p.m. Baku time), Caliber.Az reports, citing Polish media.
Preliminary reports indicate that the 60-year-old driver of a Mercedes Sprinter minibus drove onto the railway crossing directly in front of the Gdynia–Glunowo–Hel train. The driver sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Police and firefighters evacuated approximately 300 passengers from the train at the scene.
A rescue service helicopter transported the driver to the hospital. No passengers were injured.
The crossing has been closed, and rail traffic between Mżezino and Chałupy has been suspended. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
