Ministry: Belarus receives new batch of Mi-35M helicopters from Russia

The Belarusian Defence Ministry has announced that a fresh batch of Mi-35M transport and combat helicopters were delivered to Belarus from Russia as part of ongoing military-technical cooperation between the two countries.

The new helicopters are expected to enter combat duty in the near future, reinforcing Belarus’s aerial defence and strike capabilities, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry. 

“In line with military-technical cooperation with the Russian Federation, new Mi-35M transport and combat helicopters have been delivered to Belarus,” the ministry stated. 

Sergei Frolov, Chief of the General Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, noted that the helicopters are ready to undertake a wide range of missions and will soon be operational.

“The Mi-35 is a deeply modernised version of the Mi-24 helicopter. Today, it is capable of performing the full spectrum of combat tasks. In the near future, this helicopter will assume combat duty,” Frolov added.
