Moldova recalls ambassador from Russia for consultations

Moldova’s Foreign Ministry has recalled its ambassador from Russia for consultations following the crash and explosion of a drone on Moldovan territory on August 9.

The ministry described the incident as a "violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova," Caliber.Az reports.

"In connection with this, the Foreign Ministry is recalling the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow for consultations," the ministry said.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador Oleg Ozerov made it clear that Moldovan authorities were blaming Russia for all of the country's problems, following directives from the European Union leadership without providing any evidence.

According to Ozerov, contacts with Moldovan authorities had been limited to summonses to the Foreign Ministry.

Moldovan police reported on August 9 that a drone crashed and exploded in the village of Crocmaz in the Ștefan Vodă district, near the Ukrainian border. No one was injured in the incident.
