More than 20 injured at Castell de l'Olla fireworks festival in Spain

More than 20 people were injured at the traditional Castell de l'Olla fireworks festival in Spain.

The incident left as many as 27 people injured due to a “pyrotechnic malfunction” during the festival, Caliber.Az reports via Cadena SER.

All of those injured were hospitalized. No further details were provided.

The Castell de l'Olla festival has been held for 40 years in the city of Altea in the Valencia region. It takes place on the Saturday closest to the feast day of Saint Lawrence, with fireworks launched from floating platforms at sea.

According to media reports, around 50,000 spectators travel to Spain each year to watch the show.
