Moscow warns Seoul of consequences over potential Typhon deployment

Russia will respond appropriately if South Korea deploys the US-made Typhon missile system on its territory, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko has said in an interview with TASS.

“In the event of such a development, it will be regarded as a threat to the security of the Russian Federation, which will entail an appropriate response,” he said when asked about Russia’s potential reaction to the deployment of the US missile system in South Korea.

At the same time, Rudenko noted that the Russian Foreign Ministry currently has no information indicating that Seoul intends to take such a step.
