MP: NATO PA accepts Türkiye’s proposal on Zangezur corridor
Member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, member of the Economics and Security Committee of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA), deputy chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party, Professor Mevlut Karakaya has said that the proposal voiced at the 68th session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) in Madrid, including the topic of the Zangezur Corridor, was adopted.
“The 'One Belt, One Road' and 'Zangezur Corridor' initiatives are currently the most pressing issues,” Karakaya noted, Report’s Ankara bureau informs citing the Bengütürk TV channel.
“In the proposal, we emphasised the role that Azerbaijan will play in the energy supply of the Euro-Atlantic region and the contribution of the Zangezur corridor to the energy security of NATO allies. It was accepted. The Zangezur corridor is of great importance from the point of view of regional security, cooperation and economic progress,” he added.
