Russia deports over 30 migrants after raids in Moscow
Russian police conducted large-scale raids targeting illegal migrants in hostels and prayer houses across the capital, Moscow, detaining hundreds and uncovering a wanted individual.
The coordinated operation saw law enforcement officers sweep multiple locations known to house foreign nationals, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russia’s Investigative Committee.
More than 500 migrants were taken to police stations for identity and document verification.
Authorities reported that over 30 individuals were found to have violated the rules of entry and residence in Russia. Administrative cases have been opened against them, and they have been deported.
During the course of the raids, officers also apprehended a foreign citizen who was on the federal wanted list. Further details about the individual's alleged crimes or country of origin were not disclosed.
