Multinational naval exercise Milan-2026 kicks off in Indian port city VIDEO
The multinational naval exercise Milan-2026 officially began at the port of Visakhapatnam, India, with participating crews marching in a ceremonial parade, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced.
The Pacific Fleet frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov arrived in port a day before the exercises and took part in an international fleet review in the Bay of Bengal, Caliber.Az reports.
From February 21 to 24, the Russian crew will conduct artillery drills on various targets.
“Russian sailors, as part of the multinational naval forces, will carry out operations to inspect suspect vessels, practice maritime search and rescue, and perform elements of air and anti-submarine defence alongside foreign ships,” the ministry said.
Milan-2026 exercises have been organised by the Indian Navy biennially since 1995. The Russian delegation at Milan-2026 is led by Fleet Admiral Alexander Moiseev.
