Musk’s new America party could support presidential bid in future elections
American billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has indicated that his newly launched political party, America, may consider endorsing a presidential candidate in future U.S. elections. However, for now, the party's primary focus will be on securing seats in Congress over the coming year.
“Support for one of the presidential candidates is not excluded, but the main focus for the next 12 months will be on the House of Representatives and the Senate,” he wrote on the social network X, according to Caliber.Az.
On July 6, Elon Musk launched a poll on X asking whether he should create a political party. Over 65% of voters answered yes. After the vote, Musk said that a new party called "America" had been created in the United States.
On the same day, Elon Musk filed an application to register the political party "America" with the US Federal Election Commission (FEC). It is currently listed as "unprocessed" in the FEC's registry of applications and statements.
US President Donald Trump said that he was sad to see billionaire Elon Musk "go off the rails" when commenting on his plans to create a party. According to him, the "America" party is creating "confusion and chaos" in the country.
