NATO College commandant pays visit to ADA University

A delegation from the NATO Defense College, that is currently in Azerbaijan, has paid a visit to ADA University and Baku’s international commercial port on December 13. 

MP Fariz Ismailzade, the Vice Rector at ADA has opened the event where he welcomed Lieutenant General Max Nielsen, Commandant of the NATO Defense College, Caliber.Az reports. He is being accompanied on the foreign trip by participants of the institution's Senior Course. 

The guest of honour at the event was Hikmet Hajiyev, Aide to the Azerbaijani President as well as Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, who spoke on the country’s foreign policy matters relating to regional security challenges. 

Another key speaker was Esmira Jafarova, Department Head at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented the visitors with information on Azerbaijan’s energy strategy by highlighted the regional and international economic projects that Baku is currently involved in. 

Colonel Ramil Shukurov from the Ministry of Defense talked on Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the North Atlantic organization, as well as touching upon other military development initiatives.

The event was attended by Slovakian Ambassador Milan Lajčák, Latvian Ambassador Edgars Skuja, and representatives from both the Ministry of Defense and ADA University.

Following this visit the NATO delegation headed to the Baku International Sea Trade Port, the body managing the Port of Baku.

The visitors were provided with detailed insights into the port's operations, its strategic significance, and development plans. They also explored the modern infrastructure and facilities established at the port.
