NATO reported to hold planned exercises in Black Sea
NATO's Sea Breeze-2022 military exercises are not connected with military operations in Ukraine and are the planned exercises.
The exercises started on July 18 and are still underway in the area near the Bulgarian Varna port, a source in NATO told TASS.
"These exercises are the planned ones, aimed at working out military compatibility and are not connected with Russia's aggression in Ukraine. The exercises are carried out in Bulgarian water area at a big distance from the northern part of the Black Sea," the source said.
It noted that these NATO exercises have become the biggest ones since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
Some 24 ships and about 1,400 servicemen from 11 NATO member states are involved in these exercises.
NATO has not officially informed the public about the upcoming maneuvers this year.
