Nawrocki: Poland could join Trump’s Board of Peace if Constitution allows
Polish President Karol Nawrocki has commented on the country’s potential participation in the Board of Peace on Gaza, an initiative launched by US President Donald Trump.
Nawrocki emphasised that joining the board would require Poland to follow the appropriate constitutional procedures, Caliber.Az reports via Polish media.
The issue came up during Nawrocki’s meeting with Trump on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. The Polish president acknowledged that the list of leaders invited to the board, which includes Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, presents challenges for many countries.
However, according to Nawrocki, the matter was not a priority during his discussion with Trump, with the focus instead on formal and constitutional processes.
“We discussed that Poland’s participation is, of course, important and necessary for the Board of Peace. My support for President Trump is unwavering, just as his support for Poland is. However… such an international agreement must go through the full constitutional procedure. This is what we discussed with President Donald Trump today, and I would like to stress that it was received with full understanding,” Nawrocki said.
The Board of Peace is an initiative launched by US President Donald Trump. It was initially presented as a mechanism to address the conflict in the Middle East but has since seen its scope expanded. Trump has invited 56 countries to participate as part of this broader mandate.
The Board of Peace is scheduled to be officially launched on January 22 and is intended to oversee reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
The initiative is based on the Comprehensive Plan for Ending the Gaza Conflict, unveiled in September 2025, which has received international recognition, including endorsement through United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, adopted on November 17, 2025.
