Netherlands sends first batch of F-16 jets to Ukraine
Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans has said that the Netherlands delivered the first batch of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
“For the first time, I can officially declare that the first Dutch F-16s were delivered to Ukraine,” the minister wrote on his X page, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
He added that the rest of the promised 24 fighter jets will be delivered in upcoming months.
At the end of September, Brekelmans stated that he had discussed dispatching F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine with US Ambassador Shefali Razdan Duggal. At the beginning of autumn, the Netherlands gave permission to use its armoured techniques, including F-16 fighter jets for attacking on Russian territory.
To recap, previously, Ukraine’s Defence Ministry reported about the hardships of training F-16 fighter jet pilots.
