Night attack of Shahed drones on Kyiv: all air targets shot down by air defence

Russian troops used Shahed-type kamikaze drones during a night attack in Kyiv on May 19, with Ukrainian air defence systems destroying all opposite air targets, Kyiv city military administration Sergei Popko said.

The official wrote on Telegram that the last air attack in the capital is associated with Russia's use of UAVs. According to preliminary data, Russians again launched Shahed hovering munitions on the capital, RBC-Ukraine reports.

He also pointed out that according to the tactical overview - it was an "attack in several waves", with short intervals between attacks.

Thus, all detected Russian air targets, which were moving in the direction of Kyiv, were destroyed by air defence forces and means, and strikes on Kyiv were not allowed.

To recall, on the night of May 19, an air alert was declared throughout Ukraine, and in some areas, the sounds of explosions and air defence work were reported.

In particular, there was an explosion in Kryvyi Rih. Monitoring groups reported sightings of kamikaze drones in a number of regions, as well as Russia launching Kalibr missiles from the sea, and, in addition, a MiG-31K aircraft in Russian airspace.
