Nighttime attack: Russia launches drone barrage on Ukraine, 61 intercepted
Russian forces carried out another large-scale drone attack on Ukrainian territory overnight on November 5, the country’s Air Force has stated.
Russia launched 80 attack drones of the “Shahed,” “Gerbera,” and other models from several directions, including Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, Caliber.Az reports, citing RBC-Ukraine.
By 9 a.m., Ukraine’s Air Force announced that 61 of the drones had been destroyed or suppressed over the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
In the previous night, from November 3 to 4, Russian forces fired an Iskander-M ballistic missile from Russia’s Rostov region, six S-300 surface-to-air missiles from the Kursk region, and around 130 attack drones — including Iranian-designed Shahed drones and other models — on Ukraine.
Ukraine’s air defences intercepted or neutralised 92 of the drones over northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
However, missile and drone strikes hit 14 locations, with confirmed impacts from six missiles and 31 drones.
