Nordic countries to harmonise processes for certification of ammunition
Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark have formalized an agreement to harmonize ammunition certification across the Nordic region.
The agreement, signed by the four countries, aims to align the standards and certification processes for ammunition, enhancing interoperability and cooperation within the region, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
The Finnish Ministry of Defence announced the agreement, stating that the primary goal is for the Nordic countries to have access to similar types of ammunition. The common certification process will also pave the way for joint ammunition procurement, ensuring that the countries can collaborate more effectively in defence matters.
"The aim of the harmonisation is for the Nordic countries to have similar types of ammunition at their disposal. A common certification process would also allow joint procurement of ammunition for the Nordic countries," the ministry explained.
This document is part of the broader effort to deepen Nordic defence cooperation. By fostering interoperability and facilitating joint procurement, the agreement is expected to strengthen the security of supply across the region.
