North Korean leader inaugurates street for Russia-Ukraine war dead
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un officially inaugurated a street in Pyongyang for families of soldiers killed while fighting alongside Russian forces in the Ukraine war.
The street, located in the Hwaseong district, was named Saeppyol, which translates as “New Star,” Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The street features a series of monumental architectural structures symbolising the “heroic deeds of soldiers in foreign military operations.”
Kim said the installations reflect the spirit of the entire nation to eternally pass down the shining, star-like feats of the heroes.
During the ceremony, Kim cut a red ribbon marking the completion of construction, presented housing deeds to the families of fallen soldiers, and spoke with them. The event concluded with a celebratory concert.
