OIC-Arab League emergency summit kicks off in Qatar Amid Israeli attack on Doha
An emergency joint summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League has begun in Doha, Qatar, Anadolu reports.
The meeting brings together Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and heads of state and government from OIC and Arab League member countries.
The summit will address Israel’s September 9 attack on a Hamas delegation in Qatar, ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank, and issues related to occupation and annexation operations.
The heads-of-state summit is being held at the initiative of Qatar and with the support of Turkey, which currently chairs the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers. This marks the third in a series of emergency joint OIC-Arab League summits.
On September 14, a preparatory meeting of foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic countries finalized the agenda for the emergency summit.
