Oil supplies from Middle East to Europe up by 90% in July
In July 2022, oil supplies from the Middle East to Europe via the pipeline increased by 90% to 2.2 million barrels per day.
Pumping at the level of 1 million barrels per day was carried out through Egypt, in particular from Saudi Arabia, and about 1.2 million barrels per day passed through Iraq, Gazeta.ru reports quoting Bloomberg.
In total, oil supplies to Europe amounted to 2.2 million barrels per day, which is 90 per cent higher than in January 2022.
The agency's analysts estimated that in the first three weeks of July, more than 1 million barrels of oil were delivered to Europe daily via the SuMed pipeline, which passes through Egypt. At the same time, the volume of pumping has almost doubled compared to the indicators of 2021. Iraq supplies oil through the Suez Canal to the Red Sea.
On July 22, Bloomberg, citing Vortexa, a company that specializes in maritime transportation analytics, reported that tankers that previously transported Iranian oil are now engaged in the transportation of Russian raw materials.
According to Vortexa employees, since the beginning of April, 11 similar tankers have been involved in the transportation of Russian oil and petroleum products, which have made at least 15 loads during this period.
