Oman to host US–Iran talks in Geneva
Oman will organize negotiations between the United States and Iran in Geneva next week, according to Swiss officials.
Spokesperson for Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Pierre Gobet stated that the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) remains in contact with the parties and has reiterated its readiness to support any diplomatic initiative aimed at de-escalating the conflict, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“In this context, the FDFA confirms that the Sultanate of Oman will hold talks between the United States and Iran in Geneva next week,” he noted.
He emphasised that Switzerland “welcomes and supports these talks,” adding that the confederation stands ready “at any time to offer its good offices to facilitate dialogue” between Washington and Tehran.
