One day of war costs Ukraine $450 million, says Ukrainian FM

A single day of combat operations costs Ukraine $450 million, the country’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said at the PISM Strategic Ark Conference on international security, according to Ukrainian media.

The war with Russia has been ongoing for approximately 1,540 days, and under these circumstances, total spending over the course of the conflict would amount to approximately $693 billion.

Sybiha added that the current year could be decisive for Ukraine in terms of achieving peace, but stressed that US involvement is essential.

“I do not believe, or it is unrealistic, to achieve a genuine process of ending our peace efforts without the American side. It is impossible. We need their participation, but at the same time we need their influence and pressure on Russia,” he said.
