One person has been killed following Russian shelling in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
Rescue workers said they recovered the body of a woman from the rubble of a destroyed residential building in the city of Kramatorsk after an overnight strike, Caliber.Az reports, citing the service's press statement.
In a statement, the agency said Russian forces shelled a residential area of the city, causing the building to collapse and triggering a fire that firefighters later extinguished.
“Last night, the Russians shelled a residential area of the city, resulting in the destruction of a residential building. A fire broke out, which firefighters extinguished. In total, rescuers cleared 300 kilograms of debris. Emergency rescue operations have been completed,” the statement said.
