One more Israeli airline to launch flights to Azerbaijan, envoy says
Israel's second-largest airline, Arkia Israeli Airlines, will start operating flights to Azerbaijan in the near future, Israel’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ronen Krausz, told local media.
“We hope that in October another Israeli airline, Arkia, will begin operating flights to Azerbaijan,” Kraus said, emphasising that passengers arriving from Israel are 100 per cent tourists, whereas flights operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) also carry transit passengers, Caliber.Az reports.
The ambassador also highlighted recent investment figures, noting that Israel ranked first in terms of Azerbaijani investments during the first half of 2025. This largely reflects SOCAR’s investment in Israel’s Tamar gas field.
“First and foremost, I was very pleased to see these numbers. They demonstrate the importance of the relationship between Azerbaijan and Israel. When we talk about cooperation, it is not only at the political level but also at the economic level. These figures show that both countries are committed to developing their relationship, willing to invest, and that the prospects for collaboration will continue to grow, expand, and yield more successful outcomes for both sides,” Kraus said.
Regarding upcoming joint events and potential reciprocal visits, the ambassador said both countries are actively working on plans.
“I hope that by the end of the year we will have news to share. We are actively seeking new avenues of cooperation. In November, Azerbaijan will host a conference of European rabbis, bringing together a significant number of religious leaders from Europe and other countries. I hope Israeli representatives will participate. We are also working on organising additional visits of high-level delegations to both Azerbaijan and Israel,” Kraus added.
