Orban says EU runs out of strength and money to fund post-war Ukraine
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the European Union has exhausted its strength and resources, and it remains unclear who will finance “what is left of Ukraine” after the conflict with Russia ends.
On his official Facebook page, Orban emphasised that he had seen with his own eyes that all European leaders are now preoccupied with the war, Caliber.Az reports.
“Europe’s strength and money are running out. The biggest question is who will finance what remains of Ukraine after the war. Who has the money for this? Which citizens of European Union countries are willing to send billions of euros to Ukraine, which is unable to sustain itself?” the prime minister wrote.
Orban said there is now a new “miracle weapon” in Brussels, a plan to seize and use the Russian currency reserves located in Europe.
He warned that such a move could turn into a Russian-European conflict, or even a prelude to war.
According to him, the escalation of tensions can only be prevented through direct negotiations between Russia and Europe, which Hungary has been advocating during recent meetings.
