Orbán says Hungary has strength to resist involvement in wider European war
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a podcast interview for Hetek that the country has the strength and capacity to stay out of a potential widening war in Europe.
He emphasised that the key to safeguarding the country lies in maintaining a strong national government and pursuing policies that resolve tensions before they escalate into hostility, Caliber.Az reports.
Orbán expressed concern over recent discussions in Copenhagen, where he said he mainly heard war plans and strategies from European leaders. He suggested that Hungary could rely on its talent, strength, and knowledge to remain outside such conflicts.
The prime minister also expressed confidence that the rule of law within the European Union would allow Hungary to defend its national interests, even against the consensus of up to 26 other member states, including on matters related to war and Ukraine’s potential accession.
