Over 1,000 citizens voluntarily return to Azerbaijan since outset of 2023
The Azerbaijani representative office of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has said that 1,367 Azerbaijani citizens voluntarily returned to their homeland in January-September 2023.
Some 1,149 of them returned from Moldova, 170 from Germany, 24 from the Netherlands, 11 from Austria, one person from Latvia, one person from Georgia, one person from Belarus, one person from Hungary, one person from Poland, one person from Türkiye and one person from Romania, Azerbaijan’s representative office told Report.
Moreover, during the reporting period, 293 citizens were provided with monetary and non-financial assistance to facilitate their reintegration process.
According to IOM, 4,794 citizens voluntarily returned to Azerbaijan over the past five years (2018-2023), 3,135 of them were supported within IOM projects.
