Overnight Russian strikes leave multiple Ukraine regions without electricity

Russian attacks overnight on January 12 damaged Ukraine’s energy system, leaving consumers without electricity in Odesa, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Chernihiv regions, as emergency repair work got underway.

According to the Ukrainian Energy Ministry, emergency outage schedules were introduced in Kyiv and Kyiv region, as well as in Odesa, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions, while hourly power cuts are in effect in most other areas, Caliber.Az reports.

Deputy Energy Minister Roman Andarak urged citizens to show understanding toward temporary restrictions and to use electricity sparingly.
