Pakistan plans tourism roadshow in Azerbaijan to boost travel, investment links
Pakistan is planning to organise a tourism roadshow in Azerbaijan as part of efforts to promote its travel sector and attract regional investors, a senior official said.
Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, advisor to Pakistan’s prime minister on tourism, said the initiative would involve bringing Pakistani tour operators to Azerbaijan and neighbouring markets to showcase the country’s tourism potential. He noted that the effort would mirror international outreach activities conducted by the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
According to Ilyas Khan, Pakistan intends to include representatives from four provinces, along with national tourism bodies such as the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, to hold presentations in multiple countries and expand bilateral cooperation in the sector.
He also said Pakistan is working to simplify travel procedures for Azerbaijani citizens by introducing an electronic visa system, allowing applications to be processed online.
The official added that air connectivity between the two countries is already developing, with several weekly flights operating from Lahore and Islamabad to Azerbaijan. He noted that demand for these routes remains high and expressed expectations that the number of flights would increase in the future.
