Türkiye, Azerbaijan working to reach $15 billion trade target, FM Fidan says

15 September 2026 16:41

Türkiye and Azerbaijan are working to increase bilateral trade to $15 billion, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said.

Speaking at a press conference on September 15, Fidan said economic and trade cooperation was one of the main pillars of relations between the two countries.

“All our agencies, professional organisations and chambers of commerce are working tirelessly to reach as soon as possible the $15 billion trade turnover target set by our Presidents,” he said, according to Caliber.Az.

Fidan said mutual investment, joint projects and trade between Türkiye and Azerbaijan were increasing each year.

He also described energy, transport and logistics connectivity as another strategic dimension of bilateral relations, pointing to a number of projects in these areas.

Fidan said the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway was an important part of the Middle Corridor and that Türkiye sought to use the railway as effectively as possible.

He added that the close ties between Türkiye and Azerbaijan would continue to contribute to stability in the Turkic world, the South Caucasus and the wider region.
